Signs of Growing Up

Lately, Sydney has been showing signs of growing up. Oh, I can tell she's growing up when she goes through those growth spurts and her pants turn into highwaters, or she's suddenly able to reach something that has been out of reach. Here are some other signs of growing up:

• Sydney has asked that I cut her sandwiches only in 1/2 instead of 1/4 size pieces, and she eats a whole sandwich, instead of just half.
• Sydney asked to start using "big people" dishes (instead of melamine) and silverware (instead of plastic kiddieware).
• Sydney no longer needs to sleep with Elmo. She lets him sleep by himself in the basement.
• Sydney can usually keep her diaper dry during nap, and up to 7 hours at night. We're saving big money on diapers!!
• Sometimes, Sydney doesn't even fall asleep @ naptime! But, it usually shows up in her attitude later.
• Sydney is becoming more conversational with adults and on the phone.
